Without proximity direction and immediate alerts, MagTag® allows a longer tracking window when an asset is moving, reducing the chance that someone carrying the item is notified straight away that a tracker is present. This creates a larger opportunity for tracking and recovery over distance, which is why MagTag® is particularly effective for stolen or lost assets. The trade-off is that it’s not intended for finding items around the home — it’s built for recovery scenarios, not indoor precision.
